Is it splitting?

Hi Everyone,

I've had my tank set up for about 3 weeks now with live rock for about two.

The LR we got had two big shrooms on top that are a pinkish brown with little knobby bumps all over it. The flesh is pink but it also has an iridescent been hue and it fluoresces under the moonlight LEDs in my BC29 hood.

The other day I moved the rock and I accidentally tapped the shroom. Then it got all ****ed off and contracted and started expelling its guts. I didn't understand when people said it before but after looking at this animal every day watching it unfurl and soak up the light etc I can honestly tell if it is happy or not. Plus the expelled guts are a good sign something is wrong too. So, after about 5 minutes it pulled its guts back in and opened up a lot but not all the way so I went on thinking that everything was fine.

I was away for a day and when I got back I noticed that the shroom had not opened up and I could see a lot of guts coiled up and what looked like a big gash in the shroom. Today I looked at it and the gash is a huge hole and it looks like it was torn like a piece of paper and the guts are everywhere coiled up on the rocks where the body used to be.

This particular shroom is underneath a bigger shroom and I'm not sure how much light he got vs the bigger one.

At first I was worried that I had dropped the rock and it had torn a hole in the shroom that has been killing it off but after reading some today I think that the whole package of bad light, toxic water, new tank and getting bumped and banged around annoyed it enough to the point that it decided to split.

The shroom is reacting to being "attacked" and trying to split by the sounds of it leave it be and next time don't mush it as it may just give up and die on you rather then split.
