Is my Anemone Okay?

I woke up this morning to my Anemone looking like this. It almost looks like it is turning inside out. Is it normal for an Anemone to do this at night? It still has not changed and the lights have been on for several hours so I don't think it's just deflated.

Many anemones "go to bed" at night, mine included. It is fine.

it shouldnt be like this during ligts on. They tend to consume
them selves at night (outside in) not inside out (bad sign). How long you had it? Does it expell any browny substances?

Not to be condescending, but anemones don't "go to bed" like this. That anemone is in major distress. BTAs can retract their tentacles into the rock work at night, but completely deflated tentacles and a gaping mouth with an exposed stomach is a clear sign of distress/sickness. Your best bet is to remove the anemone and try treating it with an antibiotic like ciprofloxacin to treat a possible bacterial infection within the anemone. Is this a BTA or a mag? It's tough to tell from the photo, but mags are pretty prone to infections during transport and can look like this when sick. BTAs can be pretty resilient, so you could have luck treating it in a hospital tank.

It is a BTA. This is what it is looking like now. The mouth is still open, and the tenticals have never extended like the BTAs that you see in pictures.

I have not directly. It did grab a few frozen brine shrimp when I fed the tank, and I assume it ate them. They are so tiny I couldn't imagine that over fed it.

API test kits. I know they are not the best but it's what I have. I haven't gotten any erratic results, and my tank has been stable for quite some time now.

I would keep your eye on it. If it starts deflating and inflating often, also if it is expelling a brownie stringy substance other than after feeding (12-24 hrs) and starts to loose colour then you have a problem

I am in a similar situation, my Red BTA keeps inflating and deflating and expelling its zooxanthellae, so I have decided to treat in a hospital tank with Ciprofloxacin, as my tanks Parameters are all in check.

First of all I would check that all your parameters are in check and are stable, along with your SG and Temp. Make sure your Phosphates and Nitrates are inline, and its receiving a 8 hours a day full spectrum lighting.

Once you are happy everything is inline and you are still seeing issues, I would go ahead and treat. BTA’s respond very well to Cipro, and its easy enough to setup a hospital tank.
