Is my Birdsnest Dead or Not?

So after my tank problems my Birdsnest turned totally white and I nearly pulled it out but today it almost looks like it could be recovering. I'm not sure if it could be recovering or if it's algae on it I'm almost thinking it looks like it is getting better. Can anyone tell?

It's definitely dead, my crystal ball says so

The only thing you can do is cut off a couple of the tips. Bird's nest are pretty cheap corals though, so you'd probably be better off just buying a decent sized piece for fifteen bucks somewhere.

That looks like it's trying to make a comeback. Most if it has a very long road ahead but there are a few branches look like they'd make great frags. IME, birdsnest frags best as larger pieces, so if you do frag it, include some of the "dead" skeleton too.

Half of my frag tank is filled with pieces that I picked up off the floor when I thinned mine a couple months ago. They've all recovered quite nicely!
