I have had a green BTA for 3 weeks... in a 3 foot 48 gallon bow front reef tank 15 years old. Tank has a HOB Octopus skimmer / new LED lights / 2 powerheads. Salinity 1.025 / Nitrate 15 / Calcium 500. FISH: ocellaris clown / wrasse / valentini puffer.
The BTA was drip acclimated into my tank and it immediately found a footing and opened up facing the back of the tank - of course. After 1 week I moved the rock so that he was facing forward. He extended every day and seemed PERFECTLY happy. Every day and every night he was full and during the day totally extended. I switched from my power compacts to a new Maxspect Razor LED light one week ago. I have been increasing the intensity of this light slowly. TODAY my BTA is deflated droopy but the lights are on moon lights still? He still has green color and his footing is still attached. His base is white.. not grey? I am heading out of town tomorrow and want to know if he is dying? He has never deflated before? BTW my clown has not found my BTA yet.
