The subject says it all....From what I see the answer is yes but having never seen one split before I'm not sure.

Sorry for the not so detailed pics. I tried to get the best shots of what I am actually seeing but it was tough.

It looks like new tenacles are coming out from under its mouth...or something. Really tough to describe.

Let me know what you think....

Tanks a lot!

Also....If it is splitting will the 2 co-exist next to each other or does one typically move?

Not sure if they are splitting or not. Hard to tell. Nems can get themselves in some pretty weird shapes. But you will know soon!

Will they move? Some do and some hang out together.

Thanks redvipe!

Do they tend to start splitting from the oral disc? Can you give me a brief description of how a split goes? I'd appreciate it. I have no clue what it even is supposed to lookl like.

I saw a pic of your RBTA and clowns in another post. Awesome picture and awesome color!

If I remember right, one was about the size of a nickle and the other the size of a dime when they were finished healing.

My fault actually, my father had just passed away unexpectedly, and I didn't keep up with the dosing. My tanks were lucky to get fed for a few weeks. It is very common for BTAs to split under stress.

Sorry to hear about ur dad...That really sucks!

I really don't think the nems stressed out. Everything is (knock on wood) just about perfect. I can't imagine what he could be stressed out about.

Thank you!

It doesn't always take much to stress them out. I've always been able to figure out what the cause was. Others have not.

Mine stayed so close together that I wasn't sure they were splitting. They're still right next to each other too.

It seems that the nem wasn't splitting after all. This morning it looked pretty normal. It was weird, it looked like....Nevermind...Too hard to explain. After reading the article redvipe sent me I went from being almost positive it was splitting to....well....maybe it's splitting. My main clue was that the foot was not expanding or reaching for another area. It was pretty much stationary. It was the oral disc that was bending and twisting all around making me think it was splitting.

I guess it was a false alarm. Just as well.

Thanks for all the info. I will definately book mark that page and read up.

I'll post another update on its condition when I get home from work if anything has changed.
