Is my bubble tip anemone dying?

Thank you so much for all your help!

The clown fish is smaller then the anemone. She fits in it and still has plenty of room and at night she will sleep in it and the anemone will close up around it like a sleeping bag (its really cute lol). I tired doing the feed it first, I drop 1 cube of Mysis shrimp in and when they are done I try to feed the anemone. The clown fish will either eat its food or remove it and take it to the other side of the tank and spit it out. Does it maybe not think the Krill is food and is an intruder some how?

I am still waiting on my new bulbs to come in for the 50/50, 4 led blub set up that I bought. When it comes in and I get it set up I will show you a pic of it. It should be substantially brighter then what I have. Right now I just have 1 daytime blub. My new one is 2 LED day time lights and 2 blue lights and also has a night time feature (which looks really cool).

Your anemone might get stressed again once you install the new stronger lights, but should acclimate to it with time. Try chasing the clown away to allow the anemone eat the food. My interpretation is that the clown thinks there is something wrong with the food and that's why it removes it.

I got my lights in today so I will post pics of it later when I get home. I will try to chase the clown fish away while I feed the anemone. Will it put the food directly into its mouth or does it absorb it?

That should be exciting! The anemone would swallow the entire food in a few minutes but takes much longer time to digest it. After it swallows the food, it should be safe for the clown to return.

On a side note: some scavengers such as shrimps could pull the food out of the anemone even after the food had been completely swallowed, but they won't dare to do so in the presence of a clown.

Looking forward to the photos becky. I think I am more excited than you LOL.

Well, it looks amazing I think. And as I went to take a pic the other blue light blew lol. It had been acting like it wanted to and before I got the pics it went out. Totally my luck lol. I will post them though!

Here ya go! Once I get that blue light fixed im hoping it will look better. The 1st pic if the daytime lights, 2nd pic is the blue lights (with the 1 blue light blown) and the 3rd is the night time lights that I keep on when were sleeping.

Sorry about your blue light! Your Day light looks nice and bright without much of a spill out. I tried to locate the anemone in the pics but couldn't find it. Did you have success feeding yet?

Still no success in feeding it. Im starting to get nervous. If you look in the pic, to the right hand side near there where the random piece of rock is at the front of the tank, the anemone is behind it to the left. Its been bleached so badly that it blends good with the white sand.

Bleaching is not a good sign. I think something is stressing it out, though I don't think its hunger. Did you get your water parameters tested yet? If water parameters are not in check, that could constitute to the problem as anemones are sensitive. It could easily recover once the stress is eliminated.

I will take my water to get it tested tomorrow then. This is what it was about a week ago when I went and got it tested. I have since done a 25% water change so Im hoping it will be better.

Did you accurately test for nitrates? They seem off the chart!

Well said. I am also worried about Ammonia as it looks like its greenish. I could be reading it wrong. I can't tell for sure, but any green color in ammonia is bad. Any trace ammonia would be a stress maker. I hope this week's test results are different.

I had the water tested at my local fish store (the guy who works there is a salt water gu-ru) and when he tested the nitrates he about fell over and highly suggested a 25% water change asap. So I went home that night and did just that. I bought this buffer also but haven't used it yet. I was afraid of over loading the system?

You just got sold something you don't need at all. At least judging by your picture your pH is okay and I wouldn't worry about pH at this moment at all.
And I wouldn't call my LFS a "guru" if he sold me that.
A 25% water change will not be sufficient, you need to make multiple large water changes in consecutive days in order to bring your nitrates down. That is, if you wish for your anemone to live.

You should start changing water immediately and forget about buffer.

Why are your nitrates that high and since when? How much do you feed your aquarium?

I feed them 1 cube of Mysis every day or 2. And don't think im crazy, but my anemone has been closed up (still looking healthy), but closed for a few days now and this morning it opened up and has 2 mouths now. WTH?? This thing is so confusing to me. Is it normal to randomly grow another mouth???

Becky I've gone through everything you have in the past week or so. Mine first ate today. I took a cube of frozen Mysis shrimp let it thaw and then put it in a small amount of tank wafter then sucked it up in a turkey baster. I very slowly pushed it out into the BTA and she just closed around it and ate.
