Is my chocolate chip starfish eating my zoanthids?

My zoanthids are disappearing . I think it's my starfish? Anybody help!

Sure might be...chocolate chips are not reef safe...

Not only will most of the larger starfish slowly starve to death in our systems, yes most of them are also not reef safe (including that one).

Yes it will most definitely eat your zoanthids.

Yea, i had one in my first reef tank that my girlfriend bought me, had to find a new home for it quick.

+1 to all agreeing that it is the starfish. Chocolate Chip's are most definitely NOT reef safe and do enjoy a good munch on zoas.

Choc Chip stars will definitely eat coral....man I miss my star. I gave it to my lady so I see him often still .

Geeze - I had a choc chip star try to eat through a bag to get to a rabbitfish that I was acclimating. It made it onto the bag and was starting to evert his stomach to feed. Lost the pic with my old phone... That thing ate every type of polyp I tried to introduce and would steal the algae from the clip before the grazers could get any.
