Hey there RC,
I just wanted a bit of input here on my Copperband. He is a 4" CBB and has been in my tank for about 5 weeks now. I have not seen him eat pellets, flakes or shrimp of any kind. I do put in clams/scallops/large shrimp every 3-4 days and I have seen him go at them maybe 3 times, however they do eventually disappear, maybe he's going at it during the night, or other fish/snails finish it off.
My tank is fairly new, and had a very small amount of empty shells that I added from my old tank. I notice a lot more empty shells now, and I am wondering if this is what he's supplementing his diet with. The only other carnivorous fish I have in my tank are a pair of Bangaii Cardinals.
Not that I mind, snails are cheap and if the CBB is eating then it's all good. But I am just wondering if he is the culprit here?
