hi all ! Im new to the hobby and I just got my first fishs, a powder brown tang and a coral beauty.

On the powder brown tang Im seeing some "spots" on the skin, I also saw a white thing on the fin.

Sometimes I see it scratching on the rocks, not that common, but still.

The fish is eating, really active. I dont know if its just me being paranoid...

Here are some pics

Thanks for the help

Your description sounds like ich - and given that it's a tang I'm guessing that is a very good possibility. It's too hard to tell from the pictures.

Could be flukes as well.

You really need to take some better pictures. Nobody can give you a conclusive diagnosis on the basis of a blurry picture like this.

Additionally, a video is also often helpful for a diagnosis because it shows how the fish acts. Ideally not just a 3 second clip, but rather a few minutes.

This. Picture supplied have no detail.

Well is hard to do it if the thing is moving all over the place.

I have some bad news... the fish became more and more "shy" and I haven't seen it for 2 days. I presume its dead.... the weird thing is that I took all the rock where he used to hide and there is no body. I cant seem to find the corpse.

I dont have a cleanup crew so they didnt eat it. The other fish I have is a coral beauty which I suppose wont eat the remains.

There is place I cant reach since the other structure is made of foam, I tried to use the power head to move whatever is inside with no luck...

Im really clueless what happened to the fish.

And no... I dont have any other pets or live in a place where a pet can get into my house.

This video is 4 days old:

You would be surprised how well fish can hide if they want. And a tang can fit into quite narrow spaces. If he died there it may take a while for you to find something of him.
Also, the fact that you didn't add snails or crabs as cleanup crew doesn't mean that there isn't a cleanup crew at all in your tank - bacteria, pods and worms can be just as effective and quick.

well the tang is dead... no were to be found.

The coral beauty is still there, no signal of stress, scratch or anything. The only problem is the eye. I dont know if thats a injury or an infection.

Im already treating the water with Ruby Reef ARR11161 Kich-Ich and Rally Aquarium Combo Pack Water Treatment

Pics are here, still blurry. Is the best I can do for now...

well the coral beauty seems to get something everyday, now the cloudy eye is gone but his fin seems to have something.

Water quality is ok, 0 in ammonia, nitrates and nitrites. Cant think of anything that could harm. No fish in it since the tang died. I got the six lines today. They seem to be getting along fine.

From the photos I think your fish and now tank have Ich. Unless it is your glass I see white spots on your coral beauty. I would read the sticky in this forum on facts about crypto and decide how you want to treat. No in DT treatment will ever get rid of Ich. I would remove fish and immediately take both fish through TTM and leave DT fallow for 80 days.

I am sorry for the news Ich is painful but you should be able to save the fish
