i have a 90 gallon and im trying to find out why im getting red slim i put all new lights in, and the tanks about two months old now.

pump:
2 evo 1400
1 evo 750
1 mixi jet 1200

return:
is a 1200 gph

the return is a spray bar that i made, and i have one evo 1400 on one side and one on the other. the evo 750 it in the back left corner blowing at the sand, and the maxi jet 1200 is on the overflow box blowing at the front glass, and it seem like i still get red slim in the sand and some on the rocks.

i also want to know if that should be good for sps?

Your prob going to show 0 on nit and phos since the red slime is consuming it. Some info in your filtration and clean up crew would help. Your tank is still very young and algae blooms should be expected. what type of sand bed and how deep? How much and what are your feeding. What's your bioload? How much rock.

their is a hundred factors that play into a algae problem but the best advice is eliminate its food source and it will go away. If your overfeeding and don't have a clean up crew to eat leftover food and waste it will be consumed by algae.

I think that the amount of flow you're running is very solid for a new aquarium. My 90g, which was packed with sps, was running around 7000-8500 gph. Keep feeding to a minimum and see if your red slime begins to dissipate.

I think you have good flow they say 3 to 4 times an hour of total gal in the system. so that not your problem. Im thinking its the phose problem run some rowa phose remover that should help. Nitrates should be gone by now but they can still hang around from time to time and like someone said depends on how much you feed the tank how many fish and how offen you do water changes.

i have around 100 lbs of rock, i have a wetdry with out bio balls and then from that it pumps up to a 30g fug i also have a aqua c ev 180 for a skimmer and i only have 4 fish in the tank
the sand bed is about 2" i also dont feed much and i moved from a 75 gallon to this tank and in that tank i had 0 nitrates and 0 phos still
