Is my Goby alright?

My goby normally runs around the tank all day sifting the gravel, but today he has gone into a cave and has been in there all day. This is very out of character for him.

Can anyone tell me why he may have done this?

how long has it been in the tank for . if you feed the tank does it come out, because normally when you feed the tank healthy fish will come out and feed, but one day snt the end of the world, just keep an eye on it

Last week my goby disappeared for 2 days, I thought he was dead but soon enough he was back out and about. Sometimes they decide to play inside for a day or two.

Fish can absolutely behave oddly for a day or few for no reason. My Royal Gramma is such a weirdo. He spends 98% of his time in or near his cave. But every few months, he has a day where he goes from spot to spot, out in the open, and just sits completely still for minutes or even hours in that spot. Crammed in a rock crevice, vertical next to the algae magnet. Sometimes even lies on the sand, on his side, like he's playing dead. And then he'll be back to normal the day after and only come out to eat.

This was on one of his "weird" days. He never does this ever. He sat there for hours. Didn't move a muscle. Such a weirdo.

He finally decided to come out about an hour ago. I have had him since the start up of my tank…about 4 months now. He was one of the first things we got. I was worried because he didn't come out to eat when i fed the tank and I know that's a bad sign, but hopefully he's gonna be ok. He's never done anything like this before.

Probably just doing some interior decorating in his cave mine does the same thing. Gotta love gobies!

CHeck your alkalinity. That can cause fish to feel 'off'. Should be 8.3.
