Is my ich cleared up?

So I came down with my first case of ich a few months ago. What a pain in the ***!

I was able to get all of my fish out and my DT has been without fish for two and a half months.

I wised up and set up a QT for new fish. I only have a yellow corris wrasse to be added first. I treated the QT with cupramine for 14 days at a reading of 0.5. I have had the wrasse now for a month in QT.

If I'm not mistaken, I should be in the clear as far as the ich goes in my DT right? Do you also think that I have sufficiantly QT'd this first fish?

IMO, you're kind of right on the cusp of the time period the DT should be without fish. I've heard people go as short as 8 weeks and as long as 16 weeks. You're at about 10 weeks right now....I'd probably begin putting fish back in, but let's see what other RC members say :)

However, IMO, 4 weeks for the ich-riden wrasse in the QT is not long enough. I would double that to 8 weeks. Even though he may not visably show ich, it still could be carrying. If it takes 8+ weeks for a fallow (fish-less) DT tank to rid itself of ich, it should take no less time for a QT WITH a ich infested fish to help that Wrasse get healthy.

I hate ich :)

The wrasse was never in the DT with ich. I bought it new and have it in QT. I haven't seen any signs of ich, no flashing, it eats great and swims actively. I had it for a week, then ran the copper at 0.5 for 2 weeks. It's been a week now with no copper...Patience is key, right?
