Is my Kenya dying or growing?

I've heard several things about my Kenya. One is, it may shed some skin and go through a growth period. Second is, it's dying. Here are the pics, please let me know what you think. My parameters are good. My salinity is a bit high 1.030. I am slowly bringing it down. When I first got him and now....

They will slough off skin from time to time. That one looks fine-the polyps are just not as open as the before shot (but not absent). Could be a number of things (flow, lighting, etc.). If it was used to a lower salinity, then that could very well be it, too.

I don't get too concerned until I start to see black sheets of death advance over the tissue. That depth of necrosis is bad, but otherwise I usually just keep parameters up and let them do their thing. Leathers/softies are notorious for having bad hair days...

When happy and healthy, they will just drop limbs frequently for self propagation.

Mine go through the same phases every few weeks. What i see in your pictures is not out of the ordinary nor is it in any danger of dying. Looks fine, if it starts to die you will know as it will fall apart to the touch and turn to mush.

Let me say you wil be lucky if it does die. Those things are weeds. I cant believe the way they multiply.

Sometimes mine closes up so tight it looke like a brown head of cauliflower.

Don't be concerned when branches start falling off (and they will ). It is their way of multiplying.

yeah my params are always legit and my kenya tree balls up like that every so often, no idea, but just as quick ittl be back open and throwin off lil branches everywhere

yes, mine will look fantastic for weeks and then one will look like it is shrinking...then a few days later it is back to normal..............the ones that are close together (clumps that touch each other) do not seem to "cycle" as much as the solo ones for some reason...
