Is my Kenya tree dying?

Is my Kenya tree dying? It has been doing great and dropping branches (and I have many small ones all over the tank now). 2 days ago it shrank up and this morning I noticed something on its trunk. What is it? I have not changed anything for the past week.

I am sorry to say this but when mine started to lean like that it had the same coloration and mine ended up snapping. I saved it by cutting it and attaching it to a new rock but the point is mine ended up falling over and snapping.

All hope is not lost though it is savable if it does break and if you can figure out a way to keep it from leaning it will recover I just could not figure out a way

Leather corals will routinely shrink up for a few days to a week or more sometimes..
Then they typically shed a layer of skin,etc.. and sometimes come back bigger than before..
Thats normal..
Mine also get some discoloration every now and then.. Never been a problem for me..

"tearing" is also how they reproduce.. An arm will tear or the whole thing will move leaving some that will grow into a new piece..

As long as they aren't quickly melting away you should just leave it and give it time..
I switched tanks a few weeks ago and one of mine (large devils hand) is still closed up/grumpy.. It will recover.. I'm not worried..

Right. This morning it came back up. So, the discoloration on the stem is "normal" and it is still there.

Guys, no need to worry if you see your kenya tree acting like this.
