I have a rose anenome for at least 6 months if not a year. It was eating well and hosting my true percula. It even splited into two. They were both doing fine and eating. and about two month ago. they both stop eating and not extenting like it used to? they just don't want to eat when I feed it. It has been going on for about 2 months now.

Something has changed in the tank that they don't like. Are your water params still good? That's where I would start.

That might be it...sometimes two different species of anemone will release "chemical warfare" because of the presence of the other...this could be what's stressing your BTAs out.

really, but they were in there together for a long time before the roses stop eating.but it is not dead yet. should I just leave it along?

You may consider doing some water tests and posting the results so we can help more. Saying things are OK really doesn't give much to go by.

It can take a long time before a BTA starts showing signs of illness. I would have to guess it's the carpet winning the battle in a chemical war. If it were me, I'd seperate them.

I use to have a blue haddoni mixed with 4 RBTAs at one point when I was not running carbon and I never once ran into any problems. But thats not to say that its not happening with you. BTW, what kind of carpet are we talking about? I know S. Gigantea and E. Quadricolor have a pretty negative impact on each other. If it were me though, I would take some water parameter tests, do a good 25 percent water change and run carbon. Keep us updated. ;)

I don't know the name of it. but I will post pictures of them later. If I take the rose out, is it okay for me to put another carpet in there that's the same kind but different color. cause I have 2 sets of clown fish in there and i would like them to have a home.

do you regularlly run carbon? If not, run carbon and let us know if they improve. If so, Id say chemical warfare. But yes, please post all your perameters and what test kits u are using.

Its been a year and i JUST started testing for magnesium. Whitch happened to be a lil low. If you have to buy kits, salifert is a great brand

I still don't have a magnesium test kit but I do need one.

"It's never a good idea to mix two different species of anemones. I second the idea of seperating them."

Right now I have three small RBTA's with one Crispa and all are doing well. I wouldn't say "its never a good idea" because I have seen it work many times before.

Just take a look at my Crispa. See, its not affected at all.
