surely, you mean you've only had him a few months? that doesn't look like a juvenile seahorse to me. :)

He looks sexually mature ... he's likely about 6 months old or so.

6 months is when they start becoming sexually mature ... but he certainly didn't waste any time. Handsome reidi by the way.

while gestation varies a bit, it usually takes just two weeks for a pregnant male to have babies.

reidi can be tough to raise. some hobbyists have had success with kreisel systems and feeding marine rotifers and/or newly hatched BBS of the smallest type (SF, I think?) regular BBS is too large for reidi fry. if you aren't ready with nursery tanks and live food, they usually don't make it.

As of this morning I couldn't see any. In retrospect, I wish I would have at least moved them to my fuge to give them a fighting chance. I did feed baby brine shrimp (I think Instant Ocean makes it. It comes in a small jar.) Now that I've been through it once, I'll be better prepared next time.

Question... It's been nearly two weeks since the birth. Right afterward, the male's pouch looked floppy and deflated. Now, two weeks later, the same male's pouch looks all big and full again. Is this normal? Will his pouch be big forever? Could he be pregnant again? TIA

Update: Yes he was preggers again. I woke up to babies this morning. I was able to collect about 20 and put them into my refugium.
