is my shroom sick?

today when i came home from work my shroom had what appeared to be some type of small white tubualr worms all bunched together near its edge. after some research i figured these were flatworms and decided to siphon one off. Upon attempting to do so i realized that this was attached to the coral and would not just siphon off.
Is it possible that some polyp of the coral had "guts" or is that only the case with the mouth of the coral? After my attempt to siphon, the coral closed and is not very happy still. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Yes, the coral is stressed and it releases its guts. Just leave it alone and check your water parameters.

Mine will do that also from time to time, I had a clown that thought it was his mate or something. Every time it humped it a little to much, white strings....
