Hi,
I recently purchased a torch coral from an online retailer. After putting in my tank, it seemed happy and was opened up. However, the next day, until now (6 days), it has remained closed. I'm not sure if it is dying, dead, or just adjusting. My other corals (elegance and zoas) are doing great, as well as my fish (damsel, clown, jawfish). I've tested ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and all look good. Salinity 1.024. PH is around 8.2. Temp 79. My calcium is a low - around 300 i believe, so i need to increase that. I noticed that after it was closed up, brown stringy stuff was coming out from the mouth. If I blow with a turkey baster, more stuff came out. I assume it was poop or zooanthellate.
Attached are some photos. Can anyone tell anything from these photos? Think it's dead or alive? I noticed that there are some very small clear hairs that seem to pop out and retract from the head, but, never opening no polyps ever extending, etc.
