Is nuisance algae still macro algae?

Aka the stuff we can identify bubble algae and green hair algae? I don't need a microscope to see it. Usually when I hear macro I think stuff I would want to see, but wondering if that is wrong.

Some macro algae are nuisance. I would include bubble, hair algae and some calurepa in this.

macro/micro do not differentiate between "good" and "bad" just the physical size of the algae.. simple as that..

Just because you don't want to "see" it doesn't mean its not "able to be seen"

Caulerpa is a 'see-able' algae, a 'macro'---but is also a worse pest algae than bubble or even GHA, because there is no way to get it out of your rockwork once it gets hold.

Macro is a Greek word, opposite of 'micro'. 'Micro' means small, 'macro' means large.
