Is nuisance algae still macro algae?

macro/micro do not differentiate between "good" and "bad" just the physical size of the algae.. simple as that..

Caulerpa is a 'see-able' algae, a 'macro'---but is also a worse pest algae than bubble or even GHA, because there is no way to get it out of your rockwork once it gets hold.

Macro is a Greek word, opposite of 'micro'. 'Micro' means small, 'macro' means large.
