is one enough

I currently have a 180 with SSB for aesthetics only and placed a 6100 stream in the back corner near the overflow. It is angled so as to allow the sand from blowing away. I am only able to have this at 1/2 speed otherwise my sand is everywhere. Is one enough or do I need one in the opposite corner for counter current. thoughts and experiences appreciated

Two is ideal because you can alternate directions of flow. It isn't necessary though, it looks more natural and it helps prevent detritus accumulation. What size sand and how long has it been set up?

So it is like a 2-3mm grain I suppose? You probably will have some issues with sand movement because the layer is shallow so it won't be very aggregated, deeper beds compact and aggregate. I would start with one and you can always add another. You don't need a controller to run the pump so start with one and when you decide that that is enough or you want another choose your controller.

already have the single controller. I think I will eventually get a second unit but for now I will have my one. Love the pump by the way. thanks a bunch for the help and have a happy thanksgiving
