Is one MP10 enough for 60g cube?

Tank is mostly SPS, return pump is 700ish GPH on a SCWD, doesn't provide a lot of movement on its own. Just looking for opinions.

I use an mp10 for my 28g cube. I think that in regard to pure power, yes, it would be enough, especially if you crank it up (I run mine at half of max power). But for good spread, I would think you would need two for that size. I know I have deadspots in my tank mainly because of positioning and rock/coral.

there is a deecent flow calculator on their website, based on what type of reef youre keeping. Im not sure how accurate it is, but it'll at least give you an idea of where you'll be at flow-wise vs. preferred flow for sps

i have a 75 cube mixed reef...i use an mp10 and two koralia 2s i believe...i also have a return pump...for your 60 id recommend an mp10 and a koralia. that should work great and save $

I think you would need more than just the MP10, not because of GPH, but for dead spots. Koralias are a great, relatively inexpensive way to fix that problem.

quit being cheap and do it right or you will suffer long term

I think he asked for opinions on whether it would work, not financial advice. Not everyone can afford 2 or 3 $400 power heads.

......insert clever sign off here.....

If you have a open aquascape it will move a lot of water around the tank with the water running into glass only two feet away. I use just one on my 60 cube. My tank is mixed softy lps though. I can get a wave to splash up over the tank wall( about an inch or a tad more height). MP10 is kinda interesting because it is rated at just under 1600gph but when flow comparisons were made in a advanced aquarist article they measured it at something like 2200 or maybe mor gph(memory escapes me the exact number). Up to you but personally would run a mp40 just in case for a sps tank.

Interesting, I never knew MP10's could provide enough flow for some of the sizes (60g+) of tanks listed above. Definitely makes the price a little more worthwhile.
