I'm looking to add an RBTA to my tank. I remember reading a while back that many of these on the market are "chinese" RBTAs that aren't as colorful and hearty. Is this correct? If so, how can I tell?
Your best bet in obtaining an RBTA is to get a split from a local reefer. These will be the heartiest and will not have been exposed to the stresses of shipping half way around the world. It also won't deplete the reefs any further.

I've heard similar things about the origin of RBTAs and that some look different than others. Except I've heard of people who prefer the looks of all different variants. I am not aware of any difference in the difficulty of keeping one alive compared to the other.
