Is something wrong with my angel?

My lfs told me I'd be ok adding a potters angel to my tank. I qt'd him at a friends house....across the street from me....and then introduced it to my tank 2 weeks ago. It eats like crazy, no visible spits or abrasions but tonight I noticed that it's swimming differently. It seems like it's bouncing when it swims and struggling to stay the course. It seems to be staying in one spot but will venture out and quickly return. Am I overreacting or is there something wrong? All of the fish seem fine with no unusual behaviors.

I'd be a little concerned. Is the fish still eating? IME, once they stop eating, that's when you know for sure you've got a problem.

I would just closely monitor for now. If it gets worse you might wanna QT. Btw, how long did you QT him for?

Also, if you haven't already, I'd check all water parameters.

He eats like crazy...brine both live and frozen, mysis and pellet. All my params are zero. Its situations like this when you wish there was something wrong with the water params because then you know what to do to fix it.

I hear ya, buddy. I know you feel anxious and want to fix this. Believe me, I've been there.

My best advice to you would be to sit and wait. Watch him closely. Look for any signs of disease, use a magnifying glass if needed. If he shows any signs or gets worse, be prepared to QT and post pics on here for a possible diagnosis.

thanks for the encouragement. I had qt'd him for 3 weeks and my biggest concern is something happening and then having to tear the tank apart to find him.

IMO, 3 weeks just isn't long enough. I do 4 weeks, and I'm pretty sure most of the gurus on here recommend 6-8 weeks. I'm not faulting you... I get impatient too.
