Is something wrong with my Clown?

I have had my clown pair in a 10g mixed reef for at least 6 months and the male one has had a few large black spots on it for a pretty long time. I originally had the one clown that now has the spots and then introduced a second clown that became the dominant female. That's when the spots appeared so originally I thought it was just the female asserting dominance before the courtship period.

The clowns have since started getting along and the smaller one with the spots shows the proper epilepsy-like submission shaking. The female has also stopped nipping at the male. I also thought it could be coral stings as the female basically lives in the rbta and the male hosts the frogspawn fairly frequently. However, the black patches only show up in the three spots and haven't spread at all.

Anyway, pics are attached!

Sure sounds like hypermelinization related to being sting by the Euphyllia.

How long does it generally take for a clown to develop an immunity to the sting? The other clown has also been around the frogspawn too but shows no signs.
