Is something wrong with my green bubble tip anemone?

What are the tank parameters and lighting combo? Bta's will often hide when first introduced and will roam till they adjust to the light and find a spot where they like. It dosent look too good in the second pic. If its hiding from the light its getting now more wont help it. I dont like the fact that the mouth is that wide open. It should never be open in less its feeding or pooping. Is anything comming out of the mouth?

Doesn't look like anything has come out of the mouth. The salinity is 1.024. pH around 8.3, Temp is around 81... No ammonia or nitrates.

I know it's only supposed to be fed once or twice a month, and I haven't fed it since getting it. Maybe I should try? I just don't know what the store was feeding it or when they last fed it. I'm sure one extra feeding probably wouldn't hurt it. I don't have shrimp, but I have some krill I could give it.

hmm. Sg looks good. I usually keep mine at 1.026. pH and tank temp look good, my temp stays 79.8 to 80 and my bts are fine. How old is the tank? How did you acclimate it? it may just be tryinng to still adjust to your tank. How longs the mouth been open like that?

It's only been open like that for a day maybe? My tank is 3 years old, but I did a full cleaning probably like 3 months ago due to a bristle worm infestation that was way out of control. My temp is higher because I'm trying to breed my clowns. I just added the anemone to the tank straight into the tank. I put it on my nicest live rock, and it crawled to the other side of the live rock hiding from the light, so I flipped the rock over so I could look at it, and it's mouth was like that. I didn't notice it when it was upside down. It likes the rock it's on. It does respond to touch as I touched the tentacles to make sure. It's strongly attached to the rock and it's loose or floating.

If its still sticky and well attached I would say then just give it some time, but keep a close eye on it to make sure its not gonna invert. Have you tried to feed it? though that might stress it even more. Im not a expert on them by any means ive just had a few for a while and now have added a ritteri to my tank. So i know the stress of adding a new nem. I wonder sometimes who is actually more stressed me or it. I just thought id throw out a few idea that i thought might be whats wrong with it. Sorry I cant be more help. Maybe one of the others can think of something ive missed

I just put a piece of krill in it's tentacles. It's stuck in the tentacles right now, hasn't let go, but isn't eating it. The light is off for the night though, and it usually shrinks up when the light goes out until I turn it on in the morning. I'm more stressed than it. They are very expensive! I've been successful with rose bubbles and condi's, so why not this one? :( I did leave the rock flipped over where it will get more light and I could see it, so maybe it'll move overnight like it did the first day I added it. There's plenty of rock for it to move to, but it's on my healthiest live rock.

I missed this post some how so disregard that part of my last post lol. I feed mine krill or mysis every other day just to try and make it grow plus i feel like im leaving it out if i dont bc the ritteri is fed krill daily. If you do decide to feed it give it nothing bigger than about the size of a pencil eraser at first and see if it will take and keep it. Mine wouldnt eat for almost 2 weeks after i got it. And i think i stressed it trying to feed it but eats like crazy now. Be careful feeding you dont want to stress it more than it already is.

I gave a fairly large piece to it because it's frozen and it breaks off, but I left it in the water to warm up before giving it to it. He's still holding it with no attempt to eat it, but the lights off and all my fish are in their sleeping areas, and the tentacles are all shriveled down as I notice the do when the lights off.

Is there another nem in the tank? It could be causing chemical warfare if there is? Greens are usually cheaper than the rose but agreed neither are cheap you should look at some of the prices on the rainbow morphs lol there crazy high. You may have just got one that didnt ship well though bta's normaly dont have a problem shipping. How does the foot look? is there anything stringy on it?

I would think that its a good thing that its still got ahold of it, that means its still good and sticky. I don't know if it will eat in the dark and deflated or not. You might want to try it again in the morning when it reinflates. Is it deflating completly if so thats not good mine always have stayed somewhat normal just shrink a little at night. Does it deflate during the day often? Im gonna head to bed. keep us posted on weather it eats or not and on how its doing tomorrow.
