Is something wrong with my Zoos (pics)

I have these in My Aquapod 12 Gallon Nano Delux. Placed in a realitvely high flow area in the middle of the tank. They have spread since i got them around 4 months ago, nothing has been added in month either. Well 2 polyps were closed, then a couple more, and so on. This is only on my Eagle eye colonie and nothing else.

any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

what would cause this? should i cut the bad polyps away? This is why i hate buying zoos.

Wow this is like where is waldo, there are sundial snails in pics 2, 3 and the seemingly healthy 4(on the rock off to the right on its way to the zoos!) Get them outta your tank.

i honestly dont think they are sundial snails, i have tons of them all over both tanks and have zoos in both tanks. If in fact they are, how can i get rid of all of them, like i said, theyre are tons of them. This sucks. Ill get better picks tonight when i get home from work.

those aren't sundials...

check your parameters.. a 15%-20% waterchange might help...

Those look like the collinesta(spelling?) grazing snail. The only way to be sure is pull one out of the tank and look to see if it has a cone that covers the opening when it closes. If it don't then they are not sundial snails. I have hundreds of snails that look just like that and they graze on algea....

I am thinking colonista as well. If they ever are found to be a zoa eater, I am going to give up! At night, they cover everything in my tank!

it looks like they are being preyed upon by something look for nudis s colony of zoas I had acted just like that and I found nudies on them but only after about two weeks of seeing them closed up. Give the rock they are on a dip if you can and you might be able to find the culprit.

so what else would cause this to happen. I will check my parameters when i get home, but everything else is doing good. I will do a 20% water change tonight.

as the snails are concerned the reason why i dont think they are sundials is because i have had those snails in my tank for like 2 years, and have had multiple zoo colonies with no problems.

Check calcium/alkalinity levels. Mine started doing that when the calcium levels went too high. It is very easy for levels to get out of whack in nano tanks because a few more drops here and there add up quickly. I doubt you will be able to save the shriveled up ones but do several water changes over the next few weeks and your tank should recover.

That is not a sundial, but it is very similar looking. Azurel nailed it.

The zoas in the second pic are not perfectly fine either. Their skirts are completely retracted and will probably begin looking like the Eagle eyes soon.

I think Bobafett & Marvin are right on. It's probably a parameter problem. Please test the following in this order.

1. Salinity
2. Alk & Calcium
3. Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia and Phosphate.

My guess is one of the first two will give you your answer. You can probably stop when you see the problem, but it wouldn't hurt to test all of them anyway.
