Is T5 enough?

I'm looking at a 6 foot tank with a 4 bulb T5 fixture. Can I expect to get any good growth with that fixture or should I look into upgrading?

4x80w(60 inch)? or 2 sets of 39w (36 inch) side by side? And what are you trying to grow?

Looking to grow softies mostly.

So a six foot tank with a 4x54w T5 setup mounted in the center? You will be ok for softies in the middle of tank, but the sides are going to be challenging. Maybe mushrooms and other lower light corals. How big is the center brace?

Not sure... haven't bought the tank yet. It's about 3 hours away from where I live. I'll make the trek this saturday probably.
