Is the Current Stand for the 24 AquaPod that BAD?????

Hey All,
I need to save some money here. I need to know if the current stand for the 24 is that bad????
I know the Lee-Mar is much better, but again will it work and be OK???

My LFS quit selling them after one collapsed ruining the Aquapod and everything in it. If you get one reinforce it with extra brackets on the corners.

How much is the Lee-Mar and what are the dimensions? I was looking for a stand for my 18 inch cube and ended up buying an used Ikea Bekvam serving cart. $50 new, got it used for $25. It might be an option if the Lee-Mar is more expensive.

It is solid wood instead of the usual particle board material. Seems pretty beefy with metal brackets holding it together. Think this would hold tank with about 25 gallons? I was thinking I can always reinforce it with some 90 degree brackets, screws and wood glue on some of the joints.

YES the Current Stand. The cost for the Lee-Mar is about $110.00.
A 24 aquapod could weight easily 200 pounds or MORE with water, LR and LS.
So I think for my money I'm going with the stand (Lee-Mar).
I don't need to get up one morning and see ALL of it on the floor.

Is there one that fits the size of the aquapod as well as the aquapod stand does? and if so what is the model number or name?

The Lee-Mar is designed specifically for the Aquapod 24g meaning that the top is the same shape and dimensions as the footprint of the AP.

yea they also make one for the 12g aquapod lee-mar stands are awesome. my 125g African Cichlid tank the stand,canopy,tank and the 29g sump tank on it are all lee-mar. also i would like to say i saw the Current stand in person what a piece of junk i wouldnt trust my tank on it.

actually the AP with water alone weighs in at over 250 lbs.....just water no Lr....so a good stand is a must.....unless you like indoor swimming pools?!?!
