Is there a new design for the photo eye?

My Tunze wavebox photo eye is different than the photo eye on my 7095 multi controller.
The very tip of the eye is flat now and it doesnt have the clear bubble eye on the end.

Is this a flaw or a simpler design.

I can send a pic if you can't understand what im saying.

The 7095 has a hard wired photo cell that has a moonlight LED on the end, the 6091 and 7091 use a plug in photocell with no moonlight, they are different.
