Hi Roger-
Just got a second osmolator set up last night for another tank. Anytime I unplug the power cord and plug it back in, the osmolator pump turns on, even if the senser is submerged. ??? The pump runs for it's default 10 seconds or so and then shuts off, because the senser is definitely sensing the water.

Did I set something up wrong?

Also, this osmolator pump is very noisy. I barely ever heard the pump come on with the other one I use. Just a slight humming. This one almost sounds like a 'buzzing'. I realize it only comes on for a few seconds at a time when it strats working properly, but it's located in a sleeping area. Is there anything I can do about the noise?

No, I have seen that happen, mine does that on occasion, this seems to be more likely to happen when they are new. As long as it monitors the water level properly once connected it should be fine. Pumping when they are first plugged in seems normal, but not all of them do it, nor do they do it consistently. The pump may have some air in it and some are louder than others, suspending it so it isn't sitting on the bottom of the bucket may help, otherwise it may get better in time, and it may help to tip the pump upside down the next time it runs.
