Did anybody read the article "Non-potosynthetic Corals: They really are hard" by Charles Delbeek?
I was wondering if anybody was trying a "stream tank" mentioned in the article.
The article was published 2002 and I think it is fair to say that the improvement regarding waterflow is huge since then. I guess with the powerheads today you are able to achieve a current which is getting stronger and alternating. But an interesting concept. Just wondering if somebody actually built such a "œstream tank".

Anybody? Maybe a new thread??

Glad to see it's continuing to improve. Has it been getting fed at all when you are away traveling?

It would be nice to be able to get a head locally that hasn't gone through the rigors of shipping. *hint, hint, wink, wink* LOL

No, but as I mentioned before, a lot of critters are floating around. Now they are sometimes even open during daylight.
I want to wait a little bit longer, so see if they are thriving. But yes, we can talk about it. :-)
I am on vacation this week (home), if you have time just stop by.

That is really impressive. I can't get that species to open up that much. Mine seem to be stuck where yours was in the beginning. Well done!

Since I introduced the back sun coral the polyps didn't open for a long time. Maybe they didn't like the neighborhood? ;)
However, now it seems they are coming back strong.
Overall it seems like the polyps are showing some growth. They got longer and I also noticed some new small once.

Perhaps flow pattern changed enough to slightly irritate the coral causing it to not open as much. Shot in the dark ;)

I keep T. micrantha in close proximity (~3") to C./D. gracilis without issues.

Keep up the great work

Possible, that the sun coral was irritated.
I think they are tougher than they look. Anyway, I am glad the polyps are opening again.
Thanks Austin!
