Is there such thing as to much light?

I had recently upgraded my light from a 70 watt MH, to the Nova extreme pro T5. Its been on for about 4 days now and my Xenias are shrinking, when I had my other light on they looked very healthy and tall. My photo period is about 8hr. Everything else looks fine. Should I try to move it into a shady spot? any ideas.

Whene up grading lights you want to reduce light time to an hour or 2 and bring back up slowly like a week or two . This will allow them to adjust to higher lighting.

another way to acclimate corals to a stronger light without having to adjust the timer, is to cover the top of the tank with 3-4 layers of window screen. I like to support the window screen material with eggcrate.
Every 4 days remove one layer.
