Can anyone tell if there is such thing as copper burn or maybe its call calcium burn I don't know if you guys know would you explain it for me or tell me a article that will
i don't recall from any of my chemistry text that any compounds including copper that will burn. but there is a compound called copper nitrate(CuNO3) that will leave a stain on your skin for quite a while and it's supposedly to be cancerous, but new born babies gets a drop of this stuff in their eyes to fight off infection.
as far as calcium...the only thing i can think of that would burn would be calcium hydroxide(Ca(OH)2). it is made through an endothermic process which means when we react(mix) it with water, we're breaking bonds and taking it from a higher state of energy to a lower one which would lead to an exothermic reaction(heat releasing) which will cause burns if handled unappropriately. hope that helps.
