92G Oceanic tank
Oceanic Stand and Cap (plastic)
5+ yrs. old
supposidly in storage last 2+ yrs.

No scratches in tank
normal wear on stand

$400

I wouldnt pay that for a tank that old when new isnt really that much more,I would however try to talk him down to 300 :P

I got my 40 breeder and sump with about 20 corals 5 fish lights everything for 450, everything was like 5 months old, try your reef club

I had. I could have gotten an AGA 92 G for 250 but there wasn't a cap and I thought that an Oceanic was a superior tank.

AGA and Oceanic are the same company.... Well both are owned by Central Pet and Garden Supply. The Oceanic strain of tanks is slightly better quality, but still pretty much the same thing.

You could definitely find a better deal somewhere else. I gave away my 110 with diamond cut glass for free.

Yeah but honestly, you never get a fraction back what you spend new when you go to sell it, unless its top end stuff.

I just bought a 1/4 hp chiller off this guy for 100$ that he bought new for almot 800$ 3 years ago.

Even higher priced used equipment is better than buying new though. Then you get more money for frags =)

Owned by the same company but not even CLOSE on quality.

whatevva- Could you please tell me the difference in quality between AGA and Oceanic. I have never owned an Oceanic or AGA and would like to know what distinguishes them in terms of quality.

All's I can tell you is that the Oceanic is thicker glass and the stand appears to be better quality. The AGA stands are pine. I thought AGA just recently bought out Oceanic <2yrs. ???

I think that's a decent deal. My only hesitation would be the "stored for 2 years part". When a tank is stored dry for a long time, the silicone can separate from the glass. I'd make sure it doesn't leak before you buy it.

A fair price is a combination of what you are willing to pay and what the owner is will to settle for. Don't get all buyer remorse on us. If you want it, buy it. No its not a bargain.

I wouldn't worry about the silicone. Modern silicone stays flexible for a long time and doesn't deteriorate. Even it it did, a razor and $12 worth of silicone and your good as new.
