Is this a Foraminiferan?

I have these starting to grow throughout my tank. I am not sure what they are. I am thinking some kind of hydroid, but I have yet to see an image that looks like these. They are growing treelike and they are not symmetrical at all. They grow in a branching form. The image isn't the best, but the thing is only 1/2 cm.

Thanks!

It appears to be a foram to me. I have one similiar within the odds & ends section of my hitch hiker page if you care to compare them. Hope it is of use to you.

Thanks Chuck! The top left picture is exactly what I have. It would have been a lot easier for people if I had a picture that clear. Thanks again!

charlesr1958 - I just spent some more time on your hitchhiker site and I am very impressed. I will definately be using it as I come across anything that I am not familiar with. I would also gladly recommend it to anyone looking for photos and info.

Thank you for taking the time.

Thanks Kelley, and with the gazillions of possible critters to be found here, those pages will continue to grow. Its nice to know they are becoming of use.

It looks like you deserve many more thanks.

I see your occupation and would also like to say THANK YOU! Your service is appreciated even though I don't think that it is said nearly as much as it should be.
