I was gonna buy this off craigs list for my birthday. Does this sound like a good deal?

Well you can get a new 50d off newegg for $1250+Shipping, and then the lens is another $600 or so... So if you bought new your looking at prob $1800-1900 after tax, So that's about $300-400 to buy used, Something to look at is, is this lens a lens you really want? if not would you rather buy the body with kit lens and buy a lens you really want, and also how used is the body, how was it treated and so on.

I dont know if this is still around but I bought my 50D new a month ago (non greay market) for $999. I also own the 18-270 and bought it for $599. Im not sure but very recently Tamron had a $50 rebate on that lens. So if you got those 2 deals.. $1549 plus shipping.

Im gonna look at the camera. I looked on B&H. Camera is like 1200. Lens is $630 plus tax and all that good stuff your at like 2k.

How do you tell how many pics the camera has taken?

read reviews between the 40D and 50D

Most put the 40D a hair above the 50D...

on that note, go to www.fredmiranda.com/forum/board/10 and search there. you can find WELL maintained used gear.

I've seen 50D bodies going for 650 with approx 7k actuations.

I ended up looking at the one on craigs list and liked it. It looked brand new and the guy selling it was cool so I bought it.

Now I just need to find a lens to take pics of my tank with. Probably the 100mm macro.
