Is this a good light setup?

Their return policy isn't too buyer friendly. If I'm not mistaken, does it not indicate that the buyer has only three days after purchase to return the fixture? It seems too cheap to be true - you often get what you pay for. I'd go with tried and true companies or, if you want to cut costs, build your own retrofit.

Looks like a aquatraders light fixture.

They are by all means not the best fixture however I have read many posts here on RC about how their latest fixtures with the electronics ballast do a OK job.

I had one of there old fixtures and never had any problems.

Some people (2 that I know of) have reported that the older ballasts went up in smoke, but I think they fixed that problem.

http://www.aquatraders.com/ They are Odyssea fixtures.

Here is the thread on RC.

i have the 48" version of that..works like a top not one complaint..theres a massive thread around here that that takes one apart and basically says for the money its a darn good fixture... for someone on a budget i would say its a good light....i would buy another one if anything happened...

edit: the brand name is oddysea for these lights

That's good to hear. I was planning on getting the 48" version but since my tank is 60" long (125 gallon long) I think the 60" would be perfect.

Thanks,
Mike

Oh well - I just remeasured my tank and it's 72" long and not 60".

So I guess I'll have to buy the 72" version - good thing it's only $50 more.
