Salamander Active member Mar 28, 2008 #3 Be sure to calibrate it correctly, and regularly. Don't use the distilled water/RODI calibration the instructions will likely recommend. Here's a good article on refractometers. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-12/rhf/index.php And a good one on calibration solutions. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-06/rhf/index.php Pinpoint also makes a good solution ($4-$5). Remember that Sg, refractive and conductivity standards are different.
