Is this a good or bad price??

I dont see why you would want to take out 2 pairs of clowns for 1 pair. 2 pairs of clowns in 1 tank look better then 1 rare pair. MO

Reefhotspot.com can probably get them for you, as well as any of the other online retailers located in So. Cal.
Any of your LFS that use Sea Dwelling Creatures as a wholesaler can get them for you if you ask. SDC gets in 4-5 pairs every month.

:) I have a pair myself. I happen to like the unique carmel color of the akindynos. However, for the general fish keeping public, they don't draw the attention that other clowns (even clarkis) do.

My point is that they are not hard to get, but most LFS aren't going to get them in unless you ask for them. The same thing goes for allardis.

I'm just speaking from experience. I bought a white cap (leucokranos) one time because I knew I wouldn't see one again for a while. After a few months I realized that I had a fish that wasn't that great looking and if it hadn't been for the fact that if was rare, I never would have bought it. I have to remind myself all the time when I see rare stuff in my LFS's that they don't know is rare or in high demand, "would I buy this if I didn't know that it has a designer name on someone's website?" Usually the answer is no. It saves me money and regret.

Would the price be right if if they were breeding? Well I have to keep the clowns that I currently have since my daughter said no to letting go of the ocellaris. So I am going to try to sell my rc truggy to see if I can finance another tank. I see blue zoo aquatics carries them but are currently out of stock. So these are not rare as I thought they would be. Since these are the first ones I came across. Also, does anyone think that it would be wrong to negotiate the price down since they have had them for a few weeks?

Do you want big, probably very mean fish that will dominate your tank and possibly limit what you put in there from now on? do you want a sand storm?

these are the risks, they will need a big territory around their nem and will defend it from all comers, species tank the way to go with large (especially wild caught) clarks complex anemonefishes.

they will look spectacular in the right settings, nice fish, qt essential ime.

I am thinking of setting up a tank just for them. Once I can get my truggy sold. Yeah from what I have been reading about them, they are semi aggressive. So if I put any other fish in with them I have to make sure that fish can hold its own but not become a bully in the process. Would it be wise to try and talk the price down on them, knowing that blue zoo aquatics offers pairs for 129 plus shipping? And would be wise to buy the nem that they are currently resideing in or what six months or so until the new tank is mature enough for the nem? I think they are currently residing in a long tenticle anemone.

They will be straight into pretty much any anemone you care to offer them. but they are likely to be pretty rough, a haddoni would be good as they are easier to keep, they will also go into a bta and h. crispa.

If I am able to get this pair and start a new tank for them should I wait 6 months before I get a nem? Or is it possible to have one after the tank cycles? So far it is not looking to good on getting this pair. :(

So what are you gonna do when the RC (radio control) bug bites you?
Sell the car and buy an 90 RC helli!
Very rare in my RC community, and super cool.
My 9.5 OFNA Pro just collects dust now.
Fish? Geez I thought we were on another site?
Trust me, once you fly a nice large heli, a car in 2D is just no more fun.
oh yeah nothing compares to a 90 hitting the ground at @ 80MPH!
you folks thought SW tanks were expensive.

I have seen a guy on here named RC mike see his avatar for text book bad a$$

sorry for the hijack, It just breaks my heart to hear you talk about selling your car. (I still have my old RC10)
Not a fish but just as sexy!

Nice heli. If I get out of the rc hobby I don't want to get back into it. This last time it cost me a little over $2500 To get my truggy the way I wanted it. I only take it out on nice days and when it is not muddy. I just don't like spending hours cleaning it when if it does go thru the mud or dusty dirt. I looks so nice when clean with all the anodized blu and black. Well I have it up for sale this week only or maybe till next week. But if it doesn't sell by then I will keep it. I just have to wait and see what happens.

So to get back on track with my questions. If I am able to get this pair and start a new tank for them should I wait 6 months before I get a nem? Or is it possible to have one after the tank cycles?

Blue anodized is an addiction all to it's own. (all mine is under the canopy, for now, unless I stop waisting money on these silly fish)

Oh well, I had to try.

put them in qt,thats 2 months just extend their stay to 6, under the correct circumstances, with cycled lr and a vey low load you can put an anemone in a tank in less than 6 months, I have done it several times, you are taking a more of a risk with a wild animals life though., standard green haddoni, are from nutrient rich shallow silty waters and can adapt fairly well to pc, vho,t5 and mh lighting. I have two, a pink one under pc,s and a blue one under halides.

Any other suggestions for me? And is there a good way going about talking the lfs down on price since I have seen bluezooaquatis sell them for 130 plus shipping. And not one person has called about my rc truggy yet. So it is not looking good on getting this pair along with a new tank for them.

just go in and make them an offer you think is reasonable. whats the only bad thing that can happen them saying no. Id go in and tell them 175 since the pair has been there so long they might be willing to let it go for that price.

If they are something you think are beautiful, have always wanted and don't mind the price, get them.
I agree with this.

I still have to wait till the rc truggy sells so I can get them a tank of their own. I will have to wait and see what happens this weekend. Thank you to everyones help on this matter. Again thank you.
