Is this a good snail or bad?

I found this little guy climbing up my glass today, he has bristles on his shell, so I am leery to touch him because i don't know if he is poisonous, right now i have him in a dish.

Looks like a cowie? Hopefully someone else will chime in with a more positive id.

Good move on not touching it, however, he cannot hurt you either way but good thinking incase :) there are no poisonous snails.. there is one family of venomous snails which are lethal in most cases called conidae (cone snails) but this is definitly not one of them.
 
I bet the 'bristles' are some sort of algae, as I'm pretty sure there are no bristly-shell snails. Does its flesh appear to go over its shell? That would mean it's a harmless cowry.
 
It's a cowry. In fact, it's the same cowry that's in my avatar, except yours is a juvenile :)

It won't hurt anything in your tank, or you.
