I picked this up yesterday. It is about 13" in diameter grows in a web type structure. Any ideas what it is?

Thanks! I really like this coral.

What is the difference between A.caroliniana and A.suharsanoi? The pictues of a.suharsanoi I am finding on google look different in these ways to mine.

1. thick branches run along the bottom and all inner join but in a "Planed" looking order, The suharsanoi look more random.
2. The vertical branches on mine are very strait up and down but on the suharsanoi they look more angled in different directions.

I could be looking at incorrectly identified SPS in Google too. I guess that is the problem with random searches. Do you have any photos of these two corals that I can compare too?

Either way they are both so similer I guess it does not matter too much. Thanks for your time on this!

Guys it is A. caroliniania. Suharsonoi has pointed axial corallites. The pictures above don't show that. That is the BIG distinction when comparing a suharsonoi species to another acropora.

hmmm. you are right it does not look like yours. the arms are a lot shorter on mine. I will have to do some research and see if I can identify what it is.

yup thx for the input once again- Ive had them both as colonies and I do agree that the coralites are different:hmm3:
