Is this a green brittle star?

bands don't mean it's a green serpent, it just means it's some sort of banded brittle sea star

My experience is that serpent stars tend to stay under rocks rather than in holes with legs sticking out. I still can't see the star (lack of imagination, maybe), but I'm guessing it's a small brittle, most which are harmless.
