Ask to see a pic of the base. At 500 bucks i wouldnt take a chance based on that picture.

I think it's a S. Mertansii. Theirs is similar to mine.

Mine with golden tip.

With purple verrucae.

Im not so sure thats a mertens carpet.

They dont have dots on their base like a mertens, they have more like warts or bumps on their base.

That looks like a gigantea or a atlantic carpet.

I would like to see the underside of its oral disc. I agree hard to get a positive ID by just looking at tentacles. If I had the money, I would buy it because its pretty.

From this new pic. It's definite to be a mertensii.
The purple verrucae on the mertensii are small and run all the way down its foot to the base.

I've seen this thing in person and it looks exactly like a gigantic ricordia. It's about a foot across, and the tentacles are large, round, and varied in color just like a ric.

It's been a couple of weeks, but I think the verrucae do look like the pics above.
