Is this a one spot foxface?

I purchased one spot foxface, it's a small one about 1.5 to 2 inches and after treatment, acclimating and ready to place him in the tank I noticed he doesn't have the spot near the back.

Do they take a while to show up in juveniles? At first he wasn't even yellow but after he got to settle he is now showing his yellow color. Just missing the spot.

One spot is supposed to be able to live for a while in my 75. Don't want to get a foxface that is going to need re-homing soon. I already have 2 tangs that will need re-homing soon.

Most (all?) Rabbitfish can change color dramatically. Usually when stressed. You've just been moving him around, changing water conditions, and generally ****ing him off. Give him a week or two to settle in.

I'm not a member of the 'tang police', but IMHO, 1 foxface in a 75, provided it's not overcrowded, should be OK. Yes, he'll eventually get, what, 8"? But it'll take some time. I'd not try to keep more than one in a 75, but even when full grown, if he's not stressed out by aggressive fish, he should be OK.

I agree with scooter, Foxface lo. The eyespot is about the only cosmetic difference between the two.

The fish has changed colors so many times today it's hard to get an idea of what it is. I'll wait until it gets settled in.

they change color from yellow to camo... but that spot never dissapears. I think yours is a Foxface Lo. much bigger than the One Spot Foxface

Then I'm in big trouble. I'll wait until I can get a decent picture then contact the store.

I bought a one spotter 2weeks ago.
it had the black spot in the bag.
Now the black spot slightly there but not black.
So the black spot can disappear?

He got a fungus infection atm and swims in my quarantine tank
