Is this a pavona?

This was sold to me as a "King Midas Pavona"; I don't care about names, but want to know if it is indeed a pavona, and if so, tips on placement and whether this type branches or encrusts. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like pavona a strange colored one, pavona is a very hardy coral and requires good flow and moderate to high light

Ok, any insight whether this type branches or encrusts? If it is branching, it will go on the rocks, if it encrusts, I'd like to glue it to my overflow.

Here is mine (showing growth after a few months). Pavona Maldivensis. Encrusting - takes a while to get started. No direct light. I haven't ever seen one of these branch.

[pavona growth

Ive never seen that type the one I was reffering to the green and red pavona I have which branch a tad like leafs. Your looks very nice

That maldivensis is nice; I don't see pronounced coralites on mine, so I'm going to wager mine would be the type to branch a bit more. Hopefully it is a fast grower; I'll see soon enough.

Looks like the "Gold Pavona" that made a splash here in Europe a few months ago. If so it should be a branching Pavona.
