Is this an odd timing setting for wavebox?

I have a wavebox running on a 300gal (96"x30"Wx24"H). The overflow box is on one end (yes I lose half my wave down the overflow). I can only get a wave to generate if I set the timing dial to about the 12 o'clock position (very short cycle). If I set it all the to shortest cycle time (all the way counterclockwise), I get the double wave...
It seems like everyone else has used almost the longest cycle time to get a wave on an 8' tank... am I doing something wrong, or do these things behave very differently on different tanks?

Thanks!
Jeff

I have an 8' tank and my dial is set close to 12 o'clock. Most of the waveboxes I have seen or heard of are generally set at around this frequency.

They do behave differently depending on rock layout and any obstructions but if you are getting a single wave you have it set correctly.

Cool! Although I was initially hesitant about buying the Tunze wavebox and stream kit becuase of the price, I do have to say it is a really neat system once you get the streams and wavebox hooked up and working off of the 7095 controller! I am glad I decided to spend the money on it, it was well worth it.
