I bought this today and the bin it was in I didn't notice how one side of it looks like it once was there and is now dead. It is a very pretty peice. Is this going to die more? Will it regrow? Should I do anything? I hope I didn't waste my money... How much should this of been? Thanks for the reply.

I would definetely frag it about .25 inch within the healthy tissue..that is about the only way I see it having a really good chance of recovery. What is healthy looks good but the leading edge of white worries me..couldn't hurt to frag it..

If you don't have a tile/wetsaw... I have done favias two other ways. I have used a dremel and I have also put the coral into a brown paper sack and then hit it with a hammer. It actually worked and all frags were grown out a little and sold. But tile/wet saw is what I recommend. Good luck. :)

I don't want to make frags of it. I am going to try and shave the dead coral off the rock and see how it does. Someone also said superglue around the edge would work. I hope it comes back. Wish I would of looked at it closer. I seen the good part in the bin and my girlfriend wanted it so I didn't even see the dead on it. Been looking for a brain for awhile. This is I love the colors in.
