Is this enough bracing??

Im looking for some input on tank bracing. The 210 that I purchased had a single huge center brace that was almost 2 feet wide. The plan is to remove this and make two 6" braces, my concern of course is this enough to hold the tank together still :)

The tank dimensions are 72x24x29, glass thickness is about .5"

Heres a couple drawings, thanks for any input!

What size cross braces would I need to use to avoid euro bracing? The tank does have the standard black plastic around the top.

Thanks!

I have a 180 (72x24x25) with 2 supports. They are 10" wide and each one is 2 pieces of 1/4" glass siliconed together.

how thick is your front/back glass? My center brace glass is 1/2" (same as my front and back panes) so that would work.

They also had a skinny strip of 1/2" thick glass attached to the front and back were the cross brace was attached. Right under the cross brace and siliconed to the brace and the front pane. I guess to give it more surface area attached to the front/back panes.

Your overflow looks awesome, any build pics of it?

Thanks for the input!

The tank is 1/2 glass, why they used (2) 1/4" pieces siliconed together I'm not sure. The tank was built by Visio so no build pictures sorry. Here are a couple more shots

Looks great! Sorry in advance for all the questions

how wide of a gap is there from the overflow teeth to the back glass?
Would you change it if you could? Wider so you can reach in there easier or narrower to take up less room?
What size are the holes overflowing into the external overflow?
Glass thickness of the external overflow?

Thanks!

Thanks! The inside overflow is 4" tall and the gap between the overflow wall and the back glass is about 1" inside. This is as narrow as they could go and still be able to seal the inside. I wanted it as narrow as possible to keep the shadows out of the tank. The only thing I would do different is change the depth of the teeth. They were notched 1 3/4" deep which made my water line about 2" below the black trim. With a coast to coast overflow the water line will pretty much be where ever the bottom of the notch in the teeth is. I added a piece of 1/4" siliconed to the front of the overflow to bring my height up. The holes in the back are drilled for 1" bulk heads ( I believe 1 3/4" holes). The overflow looks like 3/8" on the bottom with 1/4" sides it is 8" deep and hangs 3 1/2" off the back of the tank.
Good Luck anymore questions let me know.

On the overflow teeth is it about a 1/4" tooth with a 1/4" gap (and repeat and repeat and repeat)?
