well i m going to be starting a 55 gallon sh tank and i have done a lot of work, and questioning on here. right now i have 24 lbs of tonga branch rock in there curing now for about a day now. when it is done i will add my clean up crew and then a few blenneys and gobies. in a few months some H. erectus (2) is this enough live rock? i know they say 1 lb per gallon but im not going to have that much bio load. and yes im going to run a fuge. i also plan on some macro like cheto and Gracilaria. eventualy if it all is in ballance some mangroves. i am going to post my build thread tomorrow so you can help me.

sorry for the spelling i typ fast and dont care.

You don't need as much LR if your going to use mechanical filtration as well IME. If the #'s of LR being low is aestatic reasons then you could aslways put some in the refugiums as well.

What blennies are you looking at? IME some of the algae blennies and seahorses don't make good mates. They seem to go after the horses in time IME with lawn mower blennies.

I look forward to your build thread. Anything I can do to help an officer of the law I'm grateful for. Thanks for doing what you do on the daily. :D

hey its nice to hear some gratitude for once well im actually posting my build thread right now so if your on for a wile you can see my work. what tank mate do you suggest im really trying to go for an inner coastal, tidal seas look

Thats plenty of rock IMO.
Shallow coastal waters can range from rocky to sandy to mud flats, so you have quite a range of aquascaping to choose from.

Take a look at the pics in the link below. They were taken in shallow water in the Phillopines. It will give you some idea of the range you can find even in a small area.
