Is this guy supposed to look like this?

I have had this snail for some time now, and a couple of months back I noticed there was what looked like hair algae growing on him. Now, it looks like something different.
Please let me know if this guy is supposed to have this Mohawk of growth.

Looks like an indian headdress. Maybe he is chief of the snails. :lol:

Honestly, though, i think its just an odd growth pattern of algae on the shell.

I cant remeber what its called but I had a friend with a bucnh of rock that had a similiar looking algae that was a PITA to get out once it rooted in the cracks. IIRC it was a strain of Bryopsis..... get a second opinion first but I think your snail may be in need of a haircut

call him the chia snail. maybe in a few weeks you can give him a trim as seen on t.v.
